High End Shopping Coming To West Haven

June 2014- West Haven - Two developers have come together to redevelop 347,826 square feet of waterfront property in West Haven. It will span from the West River Crossing site which includes 4.17 acres of city owned property on Water Street and privately owned properties along Water, Elm & Main Streets.

The developers, Sheldon M. Gordon and Ty Miller, have been meeting with city and state officials for years to make the property suitable for future development including environmental clean-up and improvements to nearby I-95 on and off ramps. Gordon has been negotiating the purchase of most of the properties since December and the city is helping the owners to relocate within West Haven.  

Gordon & Miller are planning a $200 million premier outlet center, higher end than Clinton Crossing, with 100 outlet stores, six restaurants and covered, open & valet parking for 2000 vehicles. Phase two includes a hotel and a pier for boaters to stop and patronize. 

The development would be called "The Haven".  It will create more than 100 construction jobs, 1200 jobs once it is complete and more than $3 million in tax revenue for the city.
